Chicken Samosa recipe

Ingredients:
For the Chicken Filling:
- 250g minced chicken
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 small onion (finely chopped)
- 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 green chili (finely chopped) (optional)
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- ½ teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves (chopped)
- ½ teaspoon lemon juice
For the Samosa Dough:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (maida)
- 1 tablespoon oil or ghee
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- Water (as needed for kneading)
For Frying:
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the Chicken Filling
- Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and green chili, sauté for 1 minute.
- Add minced chicken and cook until it turns white.
- Add turmeric, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt.
- Cook for 8-10 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked and dry.
- Add chopped coriander leaves and lemon juice, mix well, then let it cool.
Step 2: Prepare the Samosa Dough
- In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and oil/ghee.
- Gradually add water and knead into a firm dough.
- Cover and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
Step 3: Shape and Fill the Samosas
- Divide the dough into small balls and roll each into a thin oval shape.
- Cut it in half to form two semi-circles.
- Take one semi-circle and form a cone shape, sealing the edge with water.
- Fill the cone with 2 tablespoons of chicken filling.
- Seal the top by applying water on the edges and pressing firmly.
Step 4: Fry the Samosas
- Heat oil in a deep pan on medium heat.
- Fry the samosas in batches until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove and drain on a paper towel.
Step 5: Serve
- Serve hot with mint chutney, tamarind chutney, or ketchup.
